New budget-minded laptops from Toshiba : Tecra A8-EZ8511 and Tecra A6-EZ6411

Toshiba has announced the realease of Tecra A8-EZ8511 and Tecra A6-EZ6411, two new budget-minded laptops

Toshiba designed the Tecra A8-EZ8511 with high quality and reliable mobile technologies to move you beyond the desktop, whether at school or at the office.

Toshiba Tecra A8-EZ8511 has 15.4-inch widescreen (1280×800) and comes with Intel Celeron M 430 processor at 1.73GHz, 512MB of DDR2 533MHz SDRAM, a 60GB SATA HDD (5400rpm) and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with up to 256MB of shared graphics memory.

Weighting 6.4 pounds, the A8-EZ8511 is based on Intel 945GM Express Chipset and has Atheros Wireless LAN (802.11b/g), Gigabit Ethernet and a 56k modem. The budget-minded A8-EZ8511 features three USB ports, a PC Card slot, a SD Slot, IEEE-1394, a fingerprint reader and a docking connector.

Toshiba's Tecra A6-EZ6411 combines solid refinements and essential mobility in a budget-minded laptop.

The A6-EZ6411 has a 14.1-inch widescreen (1280×800); is powered by NVIDIA Quadro NVS 110M with 128MB DDR discrete graphics memory and up to 128MB of additional shared memory and features an Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 processor at 1.83GHz, 1GB of DDR2 533MHz SDRAM, 80GB SATA HDD (5400rpm) and a double layer DVD burner.

Weighting 5.2 pounds, Toshiba Tecra A6-EZ6411 is also based on Intel 945GM chipset and features 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g) wireless, Gigabit Ethernet, a 56k modem and a Bluetooth. Regarding ports and slots, it has four USBs, one PCMCIA slot, VGA and S-Video outputs, a 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter, Secure Digital slot and IEEE-1394. There are also a docking connector and a fingerprint reader.


Both new Tecra laptops come with Windows Vista Business operating system installed.

Toshiba Tecra A8-EZ8511 and Toshiba Tecra A6-EZ6411 are now avalable, priced at $749 and $1,199 respectively.
