LTE Lite/20 and LTE Lite/25

Compaq Computer Corporation is pleased to announce its newest notebook products - a line of full featured, slimline, lightweight notebook personal computers. The COMPAQ LTE Lite/25 and COMPAQ LTE Lite/20 Personal Computers each weigh 6 pounds (2.7 kg). Their dimensions of 8.5 inches by 11.0 inches by 1.75 inches (21.6 cm by 27.9 cm by 4.45 cm) allow each of them to fit into a standard briefcase and to be easily used in small work areas.

These notebooks utilize the new Intel 386SL microprocessor, available in 25 and 20 MHz processing speeds, that delivers 386 technology for use in battery powered products. The COMPAQ LTE Lite/25 performance is optimized by a 16 Kbyte four way set associative cache, which allows this notebook to
provide up to 25 percent higher performance than noncached 25 MHz notebook products. The COMPAQ LTE Lite/20 uses the 20 MHz 386SL microprocessor.

Both of these PCs feature the new COMPAQ Maxlight VGA Display, a high contrast, 9.5 inch (24.1 cm) diagonal screen, which is larger and brighter than other LCD screens. The display requires less power than others to conserve battery power. It can also operate simultaneously with an external monitor.

And both are powered either by new COMPAQ Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) or Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) Power Smart Packs, which provide 3 to 4.5 hours of operating time without weighing down the PCs. The NiMH Power Smart Pack is standard on the COMPAQ LTE Lite/25, while the NiCd Power Smart Pack is standard on the COMPAQ LTE Lite/20. Battery life is maximized by a variety of Compaq developed power conservation features integral to these PCs.
